RICH BOWMAN | INTO THE MYSTIC

In my studio: Van Morrison sings, “It's too late to stop now”... as the music plays those lyrics come into focus, while I'm thinking to myself, “what's this group of paintings about? Fuck, what's all of this about?

Sometimes I feel like Captain Ahab looking for Moby Dick. Willing to forgo any thought of what may lay in the wake of my obsession. Being my physical self or my personal life so I can get lost in a world of my creations? I've always told myself that I don't have an addictive personality. I'm finding out that is a lie!

Any creative, rather their a song writer, abstract painter, sculptor or whatever medium is continually looking for truths. I recently read a quote that basically said creation lies within and once you've start looking inward and creating from that space, then you will find it. The truth? No, your truth.

These works are mine. A space I've created, from my experiences to share with whomever will join me.

A place of ease, reflection, peace, and tangible truths.

 My mystic.

JON KRAWCZYK | COLOR & BLOOM

Color in Bloom

Please join us at the opening reception of acclaimed sculptor Jon Krawczyk’s solo exhibition, Color in Bloom. This is Krawczyk’s new body of work since the devastating Woosley Fire destroyed his Malibu residence and studio in November 2018.

In the aftermath of the fire, Krawczyk requested wildflower seeds from any supporter wishing to provide assistance.  Krawczyk and his family spread these seeds throughout Latigo Canyon with the hope they would provide positive change and inspiration over the next few months.

As the wildflowers bloomed in spring, the barren and colorless landscape gave birth to a renewed sense of optimism with the intense undulation of color and natural beauty.  This was a powerful and transformative process for Krawczyk, his family and the neighbors who wished to see their once thriving canyon come back to life.

Color in Bloom is a collection of new sculpture, imbued with the sentiment of growth from adversity, observation of tangibles from multiple points of view, and embracing uncertain yet profound opportunities inspired by change.
